Incidentally, Tuesday is considered a lucky day in Judaism, because according to the creation story in Genesis, G-d “saw that it was good” twice on the third day– more than any other day. This makes Tuesday a popular day for weddings!

Some venues only take approved caterers, while others have in-house caterers which are part and parcel of using the venue.

Six to nine months is best. It’s true that Israelis tend to leave it much later to reserve, but to ensure your peace of mind I recommend securing your perfect venue early. It’s also helpful and considerate to give your guests as much notice as possible so they can plan ahead.

Bear in mind that holiday weekends get booked up quickly too, so if you want your wedding on a Bank Holiday Monday it’s best to book a year in advance.

Yes. I will arrange for the wedding certificate to be sent to you at home. Your regional Beth Din will translate it, and you need then only take it to your local registrar.

The Israel Rabbinate only recognizes Orthodox weddings, though, so if you want a non-Orthodox ceremony in Israel you will also need to get married abroad before or after to make it official.

As you might expect, all my caterers are Kashrut approved by their local rabbinate. If you have guests who specifically require Glatt or Mehadrin Kosher meals, we can arrange this with any caterer.

Of course. Israeli suppliers are used to dealing with the heat and they have all manner of fans and coolers at their disposal to keep your guests as comfortable as possible.
Bear in mind, though, that it gets really humid when summer reaches its peak in August - and with all the fans in the world, it’ll still be hot!

Weddings in Israel often go on until the small hours! This will suit your guests from abroad who are on holiday and don’t have to get up for a meeting in the morning. Weddings in residential areas or in the Old City of Jerusalem will have to be considerate of their neighbours and finish at a reasonable hour.
