“We always wanted to get married in Israel. We got engaged there, and we really wanted an outside wedding. Antony wanted a chuppa on the sand (which, it turned out, is not the easiest of things to organise and we definitely would not have been able to do it without Nikki). We felt that would make it our wedding, rather than being in a hotel in Manchester.

"I didn’t really know what wedding planners did when I started organizing everything! I spoke to loads and loads and loads of planners. It was like I spent six solid weeks talking to people. Some planners were really dismissive but talking to Nikki was different. I just liked her. We got on really well, and she made me laugh. Nikki made me feel a lot more positive, and assured me that we could have an amazing wedding on our budget.

"Now I know exactly what a planner does, but probably none of them do as much as Nikki. She went way beyond the call of duty. She did everything for us!

"Our first planning visit was very exciting. Nikki drove us round loads of venues, from the north to the Dead Sea. She really took the shock out of it! We only had four days, and doing it ourselves, having to hire a car and getting lost, would have stressed us out.

"We did loads of emailing back and forth, and for our second planning visit Nikki had arranged everything. I had a hair trial, we went for a tasting, and we met the band manager and the designer. It meant that I didn’t need to go out to Israel again before the wedding.

"We were very, very relaxed about the design of the wedding. We didn’t have a concept or colour scheme. I simply wanted whatever was in season in Israel: nothing too formal, nothing too modern. Our designer understood us straight away, and we trusted her to make it beautiful without loads of direction from us.

"When we arrived for the wedding itself, we had four days before the big day, and Nikki had organised appointment after appointment. If I’d had to sort the logistics out for myself, I would have been really stressed. I could only be laid back because I knew Nikki had it under control. I wasn’t stressed at all and the only decisions I had to make were the fun ones!

"We had 160 guests, and 90 of those were our friends. Nikki really knew how to cater to our crowd. For the evenings before our wedding she organised us a guest list at Clara, an evening at Nana and an event at LaLa Land on the beach, as well as an after-party on the night of the wedding where we played guitars and sang by the fire. It was our perfect wedding!

"Nothing’s too much trouble for Nikki. She’ll do every single thing that’s connected to your wedding celebration. A thousand times a day I’d have a random thought and email it to Nikki, and she’d deal with it. Nikki made sure my mum and my mother-in-law were fully involved in the process and my mum found Nikki so helpful and fun to deal with. And when we had a sudden worry that it would be cold on the day of the wedding, Nikki had heaters and a hundred blankets on standby. Nikki really went above and beyond.”
